Mark 10:27 - Don’t Move Out Of Position
Step 1: Pray. Select.
Today, as I sat down to pray, I felt excited for what the day ahead might bring. I have a new opportunity to explore, and although I am unsure how I will juggle it, I pray that if it is the LORD’s will, with his help and guidance, it will be possible, and He will give me more than enough to complete the tasks He lays out along my path.
I had a mug sitting in front of me from a very dear friend of mine, with the word “Capable” written over a reference to the verse Mark 10:27. I decided this was the perfect place to start my journey today, friends, so I move to STEP 2.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
But Jesus looked at them and said,
“With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.
Jennifer, Jesus said, with God all things are possible.
If you are doing this alongside me today, add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.
Step 4: Visualize
As I meditate on the sentence the Holy Spirit gave this morning, I reflect on the crucifixion and how much faith and commitment it took for Jesus to walk through his death and resurrection to prove God really can do all things. If the same Jesus that went through the fire and came out as a promise delivered through his resurrection tells me in the verse that with God all things are possible, then I'm gonna believe him!
I wonder, with all our hopes and dreams, how many of us would be living testimonies like Jesus if we believed on his level. I wonder how many of us would be able to prove that we could do anything God places in our hearts by believing we are exactly who we are created to be. But, instead, how many dreams and blessings fall from Heaven waiting to be picked up, held onto, and brought to life, but now lay on the floor from compromising and never realizing our full potential? How many prayers in the world go up to Heaven each day? And suppose we just stayed still and let God do his work in Heaven, and in you, he would be able to deliver your answer to your prayer, your blessing, your miracle, instead of moving to where we think we might be better off.
How many declarations of the LORD’s goodness would be shouted at the tops of our lungs, fueled by joy and celebration rather than regret and anguish at how we missed the mark because, by the time the blessing was ready to rain down on your harvest, you had already packed your bags and moved to another location where you thought the soil was more fertile, riper for planting.
How many of us were in position and moved out of position just because it felt like we couldn't wait? Or, we thought dry weather was ahead, but beyond where we could see, a rain cloud was foaming with an abundance of mana that would provide for your every need from Heaven.
What if we actually believed if God put something in our hearts, that it really is possible? Imagine what the LORD could do. He is not the problem; we are.
I have a question for the Holy Spirit, so I move to Step 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The requests/questions that came to mind are:
Holy Spirit, how do I know if I'm being realistic with my aspirations and dreams?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
“Pay attention to doors. Do they open or close? Sometimes, this may not be obvious, so pray and ask to make it obvious. God never moves us out of desperation. The only exception to that is to rescue us from what we have gotten ourselves into. He may open a door that isn't exactly what you prayed for, but pay attention. How do you feel inside? Do you believe He is there waiting on the other side if you were to walk through it? Again, if the seeds were planted, wait and pray. He will answer. Don't move so the rain falls on an abandoned lot. If He wants you to move to fertile ground, He will send the things to make you move, so it is irrefutable, burning down the place you were before, never to return. Be still and know that I AM God, and with me, nothing is impossible. ”
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus.
I ask that, as I go out today to check the land, you provide confirmation of your will and the next steps for my life.
Let me not lose faith but rather focus on the testimony and walk of Jesus, as there is nothing more rewarding than to pick up my cross and follow you.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray and seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus - Amen.
Step 8: Share. Testify
If you used the 8-Step Prayer Practice today, we would love to hear how God works in your life! You can comment below or share your miracle or testimony HERE.
Conclusion:
Friends, I write this today to really lean into the fact that with God, all things are possible.
Do not move out of position when the seeds that you planted are about to be rained upon to sprout up.
Have faith like Jesus. Follow his example. Be exactly who you are created to be, and eventually, when strong enough, the Lord will rain down on your harvest for you to watch it spring up.
God bless you. See you soon!
