Romans 12:16 - The Same Mind
Step 1: Pray. Select.
Today's scripture came quickly as I leaned into the word "acceptance," which is at the top of my mind this morning. It keeps coming up in many unrelated conversations all around me. Specifically, the lack of acceptance is weighing on many people's hearts.
Romans 12:16 came to mind. Let's begin there today.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Be Of The Same Mind
Humble
Your Own Opinion
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence(s) placed upon my heart:
Jennifer, be of the same mind, humble your own opinion.
Step 4: Visualize
I sit here meditating on the words and thinking about the kindness and compassion of Jesus.
It must have been extremely challenging for him to be so wise and yet, head to live a life of humility, to connect and relate to everyone around him. I love how, at any given moment, he was always willing to roll up his sleeves and get dirty when required.
The level of patience he had to conversate with those who did not share his perspectives or level of understanding, yet was able to listen and speak with everyone on their level of life experience, is truly masterful. He possessed the capability to meet everyone precisely where they were at.
This ability to hear and see people exactly as they are gave him the ability to speak to the masses on one accord. To bring peace through chaos, to love beyond human comprehension.
Today, the Holy Spirit asks me to humble myself and listen to everyone in every encounter, finding something to love through being present and admiring (rather than judging) all of God's unique creations precisely as they are, perfect and intentional in every way.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The words that came to mind were:
Holy Spirit, as I work towards admiration in all situations, what happens when someone is unkind toward me or hasty?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
"People are in pain. In their pain, you will learn to see your Father. The more open you are to look through circumstances or fleeting moments and focus on the fact everything is a creation of God in front of you, the more you will rise above the situation by humbling yourself at his magnificence. Putting yourself aside will allow you to rise higher. Release your thoughts and strongholds that exalt themselves against the most high God, and you will be free to expand your vision allowing you to see more like Jesus did. Stop running from the situations; start soaring through them and through life, as Jesus demonstrated in his resurrection. He rose above it all. Even the spirit of death could not defeat him or separate him from the will of the Father. The Father is in everything; you just need to focus to see him everywhere."
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Heavenly Father, help me stay out of the way to avoid interfering with your ability to let me see people, situations, and circumstances the way Jesus did. Help me marvel at all creation as you do, allowing me to love and understand beyond my knowledge and capacity today.
I praise You for what You have done, your masterpiece of all creation. I look forward to stepping back to enjoy the view of the fruits of Your labor in everything I encounter today. Help me see more like you in every situation and find unlimited peace as I humble my thoughts to glorify and honor you.
I seal this prayer with the mighty name of Jesus - Amen!

Conclusion:
Take a moment to look through every situation you encounter today and find the Father inside.
If you find the Father, you will have the capacity to endure all things like Christ Jesus.
Humble yourself to step aside and ask God and the Holy Spirit to open your eyes when you cannot see clearly.
As you accept others and see them for the perfect creation God intended, let that be a reflection of you as well. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Stay positive in all encounters today, friends! See you tomorrow.
God bless.
