Isaiah 22:22 - Keys To The Anointing

Step 1: Pray. Select.

It has been a few days since I hit the target of writing for 30 days straight as the Holy Spirit instructed.

After committing to the assignment and completing it, I have not wanted to stop being fed by the Holy Spirit daily. So I decided to continue. You could say the door has been opened in this area of my life. So who am I to shut what God has opened?

Today, I woke up with more passion than ever to seek his word. I was led to Isaiah 22:22 regarding some "key" (no pun intended) thoughts on the next steps in our journeys, friends. Let's begin there today.

Step 2: Write. Read. Circle

Isaiah 22:22 - I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:

  • The Key Of The House

  • Lay

  • Open

  • No One Can Shut

  • No One Can Open

Step 3: Re-Write

With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence(s) placed upon my heart:

  • Jennifer, the key of the house lay open; no one can shut it; no one can open it.

Step 4: Visualize

Quickly, a vision rushed into my mind. The vision consisted of a gold key lying on the ground. It lay on a cement walkway with the occasional pebble ingrained into its smooth surface and random weeds popping through some cracks here and there.

I focus downward on the key, which glimmers slightly, almost calling to me. In the background, a large cement wall with a massive door inset into the solid materials is revealed. The door is sealed shut. The walls are so incredibly high it is impossible to know what lies beyond.

I am outside. The vision is in a first-person perspective. The sky above is cloudy, dark, and grey. It will not rain, but it feels like a storm is brewing in the distance.

I stand there debating whether or not to pick up the key to unlock the door and see what is inside. However, the Holy Spirit has not said to do so. There is an important lesson the Holy Spirit wants to impress upon me today. Even though the key is in the open, in plain view for the taking, it will not work until the appointed time. He reassures me there was no other key or duplicate of this key; it's the only one. Not just anyone can pick it up, either. It is meant for one person; in this case, that person is me.

Friends, he tells me that each of us has our special key that leads to and opens our unique door. But no matter what, the key in my vision will not open the door right now. Even if I shoot the bow into the keyhole, and the bitting fits perfectly. Only God himself knows what lies on the other side and if we are ready to handle the light that will burst through as we open the door and flood the atmosphere with whats inside. We have to be able to face the glory and the weight it carries while continuing to walk fearlessly and boldly forward through the door once opened, even while blinded.

So get ready, friends. It is only a matter of time before you hear the call to pick up your key with special bitting and open the door to let the flood of his anointing oil rush through the doorway, spilling and taking over your entire life.

Step 5: Ask. Seek

The words that came to mind were:

  • Holy Spirit, How do I restrain curiosity to avoid walking over to pick up the key and trying to open the door?

Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive

"The most important skill to activate the key is hearing the voice of God. Once you have perfected that, you can walk through. How can you be comfortable walking through a door blinded by light if your hearing isn't sharpened? Blinded by light, walking by faith, you must be able to hear His direction to guide you. Don't focus on the key and the door today, but continue sharpening your ear gates to hear the call of the appointed time to move and pick up the key."

Step 7: Pray. Confirm

Father God, help me focus on the little things you have set in front of me to strengthen daily. As I increase my focus, please increase your weight according to measure. I pray for a Luke 6:38 blessing, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - In Jesus's mighty name, I pray - Amen!

Step 8: Share. Testify

If you workshopped any of the verses mentioned above using the 8-Step Prayer Practice, we would love to hear from you in the comments below about what the Holy Spirit showed or spoke to you today.

Don't forget to Spread hope and share HERE if you have a miracle or testimony. We want to see how God is working in your life!

Conclusion:

Keep focusing on hearing the voice of the Father.

Sharpen your ear gates.

Listen to pick up your key to the anointing at the appointed time.

Be ready to walk forward by faith and not by sight.

Have a blessed and beautiful day, friends.

See you tomorrow!
