Matthew 16:2-3 - Enough Already
Step 1: Pray. Select.
As the sun rose this morning, I was shocked to see a bright red sky. I had seen this type of red at sunset, but never at sunrise, and never this intense. In awe, I thought about how we might witness a new wonder created by God at any moment.
I was led to Matthew 6:2-3 when Jesus tells the Pharisees who he is, but they don't believe and ask him to perform more miracles. I started my prayer practice there today, paying homage to who Jesus is.
Friends, he is who he says he is.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
Matthew 16:2-3 He answered and said to them, "When it is evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red'; and in the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Evening
The Sky Is Red
Morning
The Sky Is Red
You Know
To Discern
The Sky
But Cannot Discern
The Signs Of The Times
Step 3: Re-Write
Adding my name to the front and with a focus on the words that stood out, here is the sentence(s) I came up with for today:
Jennifer, evening, the sky is red; morning, the sky is red. You know to discern the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Step 4: Visualize
I think about these red-letter words of Jesus that he spoke to the Pharisees and how, today, we require so much of Jesus to still prove he is who he says he is.
Psalms 46:1 also comes to mind—God is our refuge and strength, a very pleasant helper in trouble.
Why can't we just accept he is who he says he is? I hear a lot of people lately begging for revival and asking for signs, miracles, and wonders. I, myself, hope for all these things.
However, it is important not to lose sight of the fact that Jesus has already done enough. Look at his sacrifice, his kindness, and the fact that no matter what we have done in the past, he will love us unconditionally and still die for each and every one of us.
Today, I feel the need to step back and say," Thank you, Jesus. If you never did anything else for me on this earth, you would have already done more than enough. I don't need one more miracle, one more sacrifice, one more revival; you are more than enough, and I thank you for dying to save me. And when I think of all the ways you've blessed me through the years, rescued me in my times of trouble, and always given me more than anything I asked for, thank you! Let our generation and every generation going forward praise you for the sacrifice you have already made. Let us not be like the Pharisees constantly demanding you to do one more. Your word is enough. Let us bask in the wisdom you have left behind. We are asking for more, yet most of us have never read your full word. You have given so much, let us be thankful for what you have already given."
I need to stop there and give room for the Holy Spirit to speak, and I can listen.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The words that came to mind were:
Holy Spirit, let me take a moment to repent for constantly demanding more when I have been given so much. I am here and ready to listen if you have anything to say
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
"It is in this revelation today that you are just beginning to understand that you have been given more than enough to sustain and feed you on your journey to be with the Father in eternity. I am here to interpret so you understand what he needs and can follow him along your path. You are born clear, but the world confuses you into thinking you know nothing and you need to be more than you are, more than who you were created to be by the one who created you. You were just surviving in the wilderness, but now you understand how important it is to believe he is who he says he is, and he has shown you time and time again. So do not keep testing; rather, utilize what he has given you in his word. In the beginning, he spoke and, to this day, continues to speak. Know his voice, and you will be safe forever more."
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
King Jesus, let me take a moment to glorify your sacrifice and thank you for your word. Help me to know you and your word more. Teach me how to further identify your voice and understand your teaching so I can stand firm in the fact you are who you say you are.
I pray for the nations and the generations that all may come to know you intimately on a level like never before. You have already done enough.
Thank you for loving me and making me feel like I am enough and perfect in your eyes to die for my soul. I appreciate you and long to see you more in everything I do and hear you more in everything I say.
May God protect us all in the days ahead, and may we continually praise and glorify your sacrifice for all the world to see! I seal this prayer in the name of Jesus - Amen!

Step 8: Share. Testify
If you workshopped any of the verses mentioned above using the 8-Step Prayer Practice, we would love to hear from you in the comments below about what the Holy Spirit showed or spoke to you today.
Don't forget to Spread hope and share HERE if you have a miracle or testimony. We want to see how God is working in your life!
Conclusion:
Today is simple and clear. The signs of the times require us to focus on Jesus's sacrifice and his teachings in the Bible.
If you take anything from today's revelation, go to your Bible and read for even a few moments to honor the words spoken to many men by God and through Jesus, who came before us and cared enough to write down what they hoped would make a better world for us and generations to come.
God bless each of you on your journeys today!
See you tomorrow.
