Galatians 6:9 - Strength Through Prayer
Step 1: Pray. Select.
This morning, my heart was slightly troubled by the deadline fast approaching to finish the month-long project of moving my elderly father into our household. It is a time of transition, which brings up feelings of doubt about whether I was making the best decisions for everyone in the process.
I realized I needed to slow my mind down, put my worries behind Jesus, and get him back in the driver's seat of my mind since I knew he had already made a way for any future plans.
Galatians 6:9 came to mind as I wrote down words that described my anxiousness this morning. I asked the Holy Spirit to help me focus and started my prayer practice.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Let Us Not Grow Weary
Do Not Lose Heart
Step 3: Re-Write
Adding my name to the front and with a focus on the words that stood out, here is the sentence(s) I came up with for today:
Jennifer, let us not grow weary; do not lose heart.
Step 4: Visualize
At first, when I meditated on these words, I thought this was a reminder to stay strong amid life's challenges. Okay, great. Easier said than done!
The Holy Spirit prompted me to set aside my perspective and think deeper about the words. I realized I was not asking the right questions, such as where my strength comes from and how I know what I am doing is right or good according to what is referenced in the scripture.
The Holy Spirit brought the word trust to the top of my mind.
If I worry about whether or not I will have the strength to do anything God puts in front of me, the enemy has already captured my mind. But if I think of the strength Jesus had after nearly being bludgeoned to death, then was asked to carry a gigantic solid wood cross only to be hanged on Calvary, anything I am going through is not that severe and certainly will not kill me or my spirit since I was bought with a price by Jesus. And if Jesus lives inside of me, then I can do all things in accordance with the will of the Father through Jesus.
This prompts me to re-examine the challenges I face today and my perspective regarding them. I have more than enough power to do anything God puts in front of me in the physical. However, I expand my spiritual strength through prayer. My biggest spiritual strength training machine is my prayer life. I need to strengthen my prayer muscle to recognize if God says I can lift it, I can. If God thinks I can do it, I can.
If I stop spending time thinking about how I am going to get something done and know if God said it needs to be done, he will give me the strength and power to do it instead of thinking about all the reasons why something may or may not happen, what could I accomplish?
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The main question(s) that came to mind were:
Holy Spirit, how do I strengthen my prayer life?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
"Pause and ask God about everything you do, 'Am I in alignment with your will?' Check in with your instinct, and, through discernment, know if the task, the assignment, or even a thought that arises before you is his will. Is it his voice or something else foreign? David wrote in Psalms 119:71 - It is good for me to be afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. Pay attention and do not travel down the path to cause further harm when you are out of his covering. Rather, fix your mind, body, and spirit to get back in alignment with your Father. When you are aligned with his will, your yolk, no matter how heavy physically, is light because Jesus went before you to make a way and share the load. You have everything you need; therefore, you should not listen to the lies of the enemy, for in them you grow weary."
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Father God, strengthen my prayer life so I can focus on you in every situation. Your word is truth and can drown out the lies of the enemy's voice by learning how you speak amid what seems impossible. Jesus defeated death; let me be reminded of His strength and sacrifice, which now lives in me to never grow weary in doing your will. Let me understand when to rest in your promises, and let me not be tired, for you will give me what is sufficient for the harvest ahead. I stand in the excitement and expectation that my ladder days will be greater than my former, as your word declares. In the mighty name of Jesus, I seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus - Amen!

Conclusion:
God will give you what you need, to do what he asks.
Check in with God regularly to ensure you align with his will.
Jesus already went before you and made a way, so know when you are walking in the footsteps of Jesus, your yolk will be made light.
Focus on the LORD; if he said you can do it, it is already done!
Have a blessed day, friends! See you tomorrow.
