Luke 3:16-17 - Bring It To His Feet
Step 1: Pray. Select.
Today, as I started my prayer time, the Holy Spirit led me to a scripture I did not expect. Luke 3:16-17. I must admit, I am glad he led me in this direction, as I wasn’t sure what to pray for today. However, as always, the Holy Spirit never disappoints.
Let’s begin, friends.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Luke 3:16-17 - John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.
Jennifer, one more powerful will come, straps not worthy to untie, fire, his winnowing fork, his barn, will burn up the chaff.
If you are doing this alongside me today, add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.
Step 4: Visualize
As I meditate on today's sentence, I am reminded that no matter what I am facing or what seemingly insurmountable goal is placed in my heart, Jesus is bigger and greater than anything I picture. He is so great that I am only allowed to look at his feet in this moment in my vision. But the thought of actually touching him and untying his sandals shows our place in conjunction with His.
In my vision today, as I continue to stare at his feet, the Holy Spirit wants me to feel loved and not degraded; instead, He shows me whatever demons, temptations, fears, lies, or traumas meddling in my life, I must bring them all to Him. I must drop off these things at his feet. For these are the feet of my Savior! The only feet by the power of the almighty God, that have the power to stomp on the devil’s head—the power to tear down my adversaries and claim victory from the past, present, and future.
A question arises, so I move to Step 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The requests/questions that came to mind are:
Holy Spirit, what is the devil trying to stop me from doing? I have met many obstacles lately. Help me identify his schemes.
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
“Jesus is coming, as the scripture says. He has already saved you, but you must stop speaking as if he will save you in the future. When he died, this was already done. You have a way to heaven. Jesus made a way and through Him. The enemy wants to keep you from discipleship. The enemy wants to win, but bring all things to the one who saved you. He will wash all harm away with the blood. You were bought for a price. You are mine! Satan has no power. Bring all the spirits and principalities to the feet of Jesus; they belong on the floor, and he will stomp them into submission so you are free to keep saving souls. Keep being a disciple, doing His good work that he has begun within you until the day of the return of Jesus the Messiah. He is waiting for you in the barn. Let him battle the rest.”
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Heavenly Father, now more than ever, I pray to bring all things to the feet of your precious son, Jesus. You have never let me down; I go boldly into your work today with joy and thanksgiving, knowing everything picked from the harvest, I will bring to you to sift through on your threshing floor and will be satisfied with your words as payment, saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Please protect me as I go in and come out, and may the peace bring me through all storms and attacks of the enemy. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus the Messiah - Amen!

Conclusion:
Friends, today, let’s bring everything to Jesus' feet. Leave nothing in your hands so he can sift through and burn the chaff of anything we are not supposed to carry or in covenant with.
It is beautiful to know that Jesus is waiting for us in the safety of His barn.
Go forward with discipleship, and don’t let the attacks of the enemy sway you from sharing the good news with all who need hope.
God bless you, friends! See you soon.
